  • Jenny Lu and James Littlewood concert

    Pianist Jenny Lu and trombonist James Littlewood invite you to an afternoon of passionate music inspired by the lush gardens of Duneira Estate. Evocative pieces by Gabel, Lassen and Tchaikovsky will transport listeners to a world of tender devotion. The performers will also premiere their own arrangement of Frederick Delius The Walk To The Paradise Garden, paired with selections from Sergei Prokofiev's beloved ballet Romeo and Juliet to close the musical rendezvous.

  • "Unearth Mount Macedon's Horticulture History"

    Join us at Duneira Estate for a special afternoon event as expert horticulturalist, author, award winning radio broadcaster and TV presenter, Stephen Ryan tells the story of the evolution of the grand gardens that have made Mount Macedon a unique landscape. 

    Following Stephen's talk sit back and enjoy a glass of wine whilst viewing award winning film makers Elizabeth Langslow and Leandro Palacio's short films about Mount Macedon's horticultural history. Showcasing images from the Mount Macedon and Gisborne Historical Society, and including interviews with gardeners and owners, these films are a rare treat for both history buffs and garden lovers.   

  • Wine - A never ending Story with David Ell

    Join winemaker and founder of Mount Gisborne Wines David Ell as he discusses the history of the development of the wine industry in the Macedon Ranges. As one the early winemakers in the region, David takes us through the history of wine making, wine etiquette and the characteristics of wine. Enjoy a tasting of cool climate local chardonnay and pinot and embrace the understanding of the complexity of wine as it ages.

  • Watercolour Masterclass with Elizabeth Barnett

    Immerse yourself in art and nature with renowned local Macedon Ranges artist, Elizabeth Barnett at the stunning Duneira Estate. Begin with a private tour of the estate's enchanting gardens, handpicking fresh blooms to arrange in the studio. Enjoy a guided watercolour session, learning Elizabeth’s techniques before indulging in a morning tea. High-quality paints and brushes will be provided for use during the session, or participants are welcome to bring their own supplies. Each guest will receive premium watercolour paper and leave with their floral masterpiece from this exclusive creative experience.

    Hidden behind towering eucalypts and dense holly hedges on the southern slopes of Mt Macedon lies one of Australia's most extraordinary heritage estates. For over 150 years Duneira has enchanted visitors from across the globe. With it's imposing Italianate villa set amongst 38 acres of botanically significant gardens, this remarkable hill station continues to delight and inspire visitors. 

    Duneira Estate is ablaze with sensational Autumn colour, and upon entering the gates visitors encounter one of the best surviving examples of a privately owned avenue in the Southern Hemisphere. The iconic 500m Dutch Elm avenue affords a spectacular backdrop for keen photographers.

    Explore the secret garden and discover the 145 yr old weeping Cherry tree, stroll through the orchards to the north of the historic homestead and walk through the labyrinth. Take a break in the courtyard before visiting our resident Llamas. 

    Autumn is one of the peak seasons in this spectacular heritage listed garden and the grand garden will be open every weekend in April during the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival.  

    Gates open at 10am and close at 4pm.

    Last entry is at 3.30pm
