The House and Garden

The House at Duneira Estate contains Stuart Stoneman’s collections; a book collection with over 20,000 volumes, an antique furniture collection and an important and significant art collection.

The property spreads across 38 acres, with 16 acres of formal and woodland-style gardens. The remaining original farm now contains Chestnut groves, orchards and paddocks for our resident llamas.

The garden delights in all seasons, beginning with the Rhododendron collection in Spring along with the flowering Dogwoods and a stunning display of Bluebells.

Summer brings the perennial borders into full bloom, Hydrangeas and heritage listed trees are full and lush with their green summer foliage.

Autumn is ablaze with sensational color as one wanders down the iconic 500 metre Dutch Elm avenue known to be the longest privately owned Avenue in the Southern Hemisphere.

In Winter the garden becomes a wonderland as the snow falls on the lichen and moss and rich green lawns.

The garden and house are open for tours.
