Jenny Lu and James Littlewood Classical Concert
James Littlewood (bass trombone) and Jenny Lu (piano) invite you to a romantic recital in the enchanting setting of Duneira Estate. ‘Promises’ is a concert of intimate chamber music that lingers on the quiet vows that we make to love, remember and hope. Nostalgia unfolds with tender lyricism through the music of Kaprálová, Korngold and Still. The program is imbued with the timeless pondering of faith by Bach’s St Matthew Passion, contrasting with the playful vitality of Defaye’s Deux Danses.
In the soft light of an autumn afternoon, the music in this recital unfurls its amorous promises, suspended and kept in songs.
